Executive Order 13556

Established by Executive Order 13556, the Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) program standardizes the way the Executive branch handles unclassified information that requires safeguarding or dissemination controls pursuant to and consistent with law, regulations, and Government-wide policies.

Definition

CUI is unclassified information requiring safeguarding and dissemination controls, consistent with applicable law, regulation, or government-wide policy.

CUI NDA

CUI Notice 2020-03. The Executive Agent (EA) strongly recommends using the CUI NDA to increase standardization across the Executive Branch and in contracts.
