Site Backups

Here is how you can perform these yourself in the future:

2. Under the header "Archive a Directory or Compress a file", select "govcwiki.org".

3. For "Output Directory", put "/".

4. Leave compression type as "zip".

5. Leave "Keep the original file" selected.

6. Click Archive/Compress.

When this completes, you can download the backup.

2. Log into "ftp.govcwiki.org" with your user ("govcwikiorg") and password.

3. You'll see a file named govcwiki.org.zip.

4. Download it and copy it to a place where you'll keep your backups.

5. You can rename it with the date if you want to keep several different backups.

To restore a backup zip file:

1. Log into "ftp.govcwiki.org" with your user ("govcwikiorg") and password with FileZilla.

2. Upload the backup zip file you downloaded previously containing the site with the date you want to restore.

4. Under the header "Uncompress/Unarchive a File", select the file you just uploaded.

5. For "Output Directory" select "/".

6. Click "Extract/Uncompress".

7. When this completes, the files from your site should be back in place.

To backup your database:

1. Go to

2. phpMyAdmin will load.

3. In the right pane, click "Export".

4. Under "Export", there should be a single, selectable line: mdw_lk7mji4nfg. Select it.

5. Make sure "SQL" is selected.

6. Scroll down so you see another box with headed with a checkbox and "Save as file". Check it.

7. Click "Go".

8. Save the downloaded file with the zip file you dowloaded.

3. Use "Browse" to select the file you would like to import.

4. Click "Go".
