Other Direct Costs (ODC) - Report

The ODC Report is a report that generates all the other direct costs of a contract. It is a summary report that provides ODC's by category. It provides summary detail of:

  • Subcontractor Costs
  • Consultant Costs
  • Purchased Labor Costs
  • Travel Costs

Level of Detail

The is the 2nd level of detail in modern accounting systems. The first level would be a line on a Contract Summary Report, or a Job Cost Summary Report.

Summary of The Report

It is a summary report, and an ODC Detail Report can provide details to any or all of the categories of ODC's. It is used mainly by Program Managers to understand the costs that they are incurring on their projects, and compare ODC categories costs against what was bid. It is also used by others especially in oversight positions to determine if a contractor is incurring costs specifically unallowable. For instance, if the contract states that the contract shall not incur any travel costs, but the report shows travel costs, most likely those costs will be deemed unallowable and not reimbursable.
